Welcome to the Redwood Valley Alternative Learning Program -

The Alternative Learning Program exists to help support students who are having difficulty meeting the graduation requirements in the main high school.  We are a small program that allows students to take a blend of regular classes and ALP classes.  Students earn credit through the ALP by completing a summer school program, attending some classes during the school day, attending classes after school, completing on-line courses and even through working at their jobs!  Teen parents can also earn credit by working with the Early Childhood Family Education program offered through the school district.

Many of the students enrolled in the ALP completed 1/2 credit of History Recovery during summer school. Currently seat time classes are offered for Employability Skills, English 12, Algebra II and an after school class, English Recovery.  Students are also earning credit through Odysseyware (an on-line program), Work Experience and Early Childhood Family Education courses.

I hope you take some time to look at what we are offering this school year.  If you have any questions about the program or what is offered, please call my office at 507-644-8592 or send an email through the link below.

Ally Carlson and I also lead the Career Mentorship course during 2nd semester for seniors.  This course gives students real-world experience in local business.  This year our partners include Daktronics, Sunwood Care Center and Jackpot Junction.  In addition, information about CORD Math, a course for high school students receiving special education services is included on the website.
