Children's Dental Services are coming again to School on October 5 & 6, 2017.
Children's Dental Services came to Redwood's Public Schools on November 28, 29 & 30, 2016 and again on March 1 & 2, 2017. Many kids had dental care with little time out of the classroom! Let us know if you are interested in having your child seen! We would love to hear from you! Call the Health Office or email us with your interest, it will help us plan the dates!
Would you like your child to get dental care during school hours? We have the great opportunity to have Children's Dental Services come to our schools! They accept dental insurance, Medical Assistance and private pay. Complete a consent form and return to the Health Office as soon as possible.
"Dental disease is the most common, chronic childhood illness; over 51 million hours of school time are lost in the U.S. annually due to dental-related illness. CDS targets kids who are not being served and brings dental care directly to them in the school, where they are comforted by familiar surroundings. CDS’ portable dental care is a convenient, affordable, efficient and cost-effective mobile oral health care program that allows us increase access to care while reducing barriers such as transportation and financial hardship. Dental care at school may include exams, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatment, sealants, fillings, crowns, extractions and other treatments as needed during regular school hours." (Children's Dental Services)
There is a fee for service. Please review the consent form paragraph:
“I give permission for CDS to bill my insurance for any services provided to the individual listed for care and I under-stand that I am responsible for any amount not covered by the insurance. I give my permission for CDS to share the patient’s oral health information with the school, to provide the most comprehensive care possible. This consent form is valid for one year from the date signed unless revoked in writing to CDS. If I had any further questions about the risks and benefits of treatment or alternate treatment options I have contacted a provider at CDS to ask such questions and they have been answered adequately. I have had adequate time to make the decision to give consent freely. The medical history provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge. If my medical history changes I will inform CDS.”
Services may be provided by Advanced Dental Therapist, Dentist, or Hygienist- depending on the need. Advanced Dental Therapists are mid-level providers and can perform preventive as well as restorative functions such as exams, fluoride, fillings, and extractions.
