Investing in our Youngest Learners: Voters Approve Redwood Area Schools Bond Referendum
Immediate Release - 04/14/23
Redwood Area Schools district residents voted in a preliminary count of 1137 yes votes to 1059 no votes to pass a bond referendum, which enables the district to build a new prek-4th grade elementary building on the current Reede Gray site.
Voters were asked one question, based on a clear community direction for facility priorities, to approve $46,630,000 for the construction and equipping of a new elementary school.
Since the fall of 2020, district leaders along with community task force members have been studying and planning for long-term facilities needs at Reede Gray Elementary.
“We’re so grateful to have community support for our students, staff and the future of our district,” said Superintendent Becky Cselovszki. “It is clear our community believes our future is in the classrooms of our youngest learners.”
Vote counts are unofficial until canvassed by the school board at their April 17, 2023 special session at 2:30 PM in the boardroom.
