Part of the Girl Scout Law reads: I will do my best to make the world a better place! Girl Scout Service Unit #349 (Redwood Falls Area) donates flowers and plants for the Reede Gray planter box throughout the ‘24-‘25 school year as a community service project. They plan to update the planter box seasonally!

Law Enforcement Exploration
Redwood Valley High School is excited to announce, starting on Monday, October 7th, RVHS students can sign up to participate in a 16-hour Criminal Justice Exploration opportunity. Students will learn about law enforcement and the criminal justice system through weekly immersive experiences. Applications can be found in the HS Office.

Freshmen & Sophomores - It's time to sign up for the Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary in July 2027. Students who enroll before September 22, 2024 receive a $200 discount and qualify for the risk free enrollment which allows you to cancel for any reason and get your money back within one week of signing up. Trip Cost with discount is $3,869. If enrolled in September 2024, a student/family would make 35 payments of $111. All six fundraising opportunities would go directly to the student who earned it. Common Questions:
1. Can parents come with? Parents of students who are coming on the trip are welcome to come with. Parents would pay the adult price included in the information. Parents would have to complete a background check through EF Tours and follow the Adult Behavior Contract.
2. What if I don't sign up now? It is completely okay if you are not ready to sign up now. A student has until January 1, 2027 to sign up for the trip. At any time between now and then, please feel free to reach out to Ms. Heiling to sign up for the trip.

Redwood Valley High School student, Shaun Matthews, was selected as one of 23 students from across the country to participate in the 2024 National Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) in Washington, D.C. As a part of the experience, he was chosen to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Great job representing RVHS, Shaun!

Students in Ms. Heltemes' Freshman Academy class were learning the basics of sewing. For this project, the used the sewing machines, without thread, to practice making angles using the machine's needle. The students were very engaged!
Lots of Career Exploration happening at RVHS. In Mrs. Orren's Landscape Design class, students were identifying qualities and skills needed to obtain a rewarding career in the landscaping and construction fields. Freshman Academy students in Mr. Maddock's class were watching short video clips on dozens of different careers in agriculture. Very amazing lessons!
RVHS is looking for parents/guardians and community members to serve on Site Council. This group meets four times (September, November, January, March) each year at 5:00 p.m. to review things happening at the high school, gather input, and make suggestions.
