In Mr. Hegg's Introduction to Woods class, students were constructing individual projects using a set of plans, as well as demonstrating proper safety using hand and power tools. I was very impressed with the work ethic, pride, and dedication students were showing in their work. Great job RVHS students!

Due to a generous grant from Redwood Electric Cooperative, RVHS was able to purchase 6 new drones for our Drone Program. The new Cetus Pro FTV Drones allow operators to wear googles to see a first person view from the drone. The students in Drones I and Drones II now are able to pilot four different drones and can earn their Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot License at the end of Drones II. Thanks again to the Redwood Electric Cooperative!
Due to a generous grant from Minnesota State's "Supporting Minnesota’s High School Nursing Assistant Equipment Grant", Redwood Valley High School was able to purchase a Geriatric Simulator. This equipment enables users to personally experience a variety of age-related physical challenges such as stooped posture and restricted range of motion. The experience helps them develop a unique sensitivity and understanding toward the elderly. The aging simulator includes a sensitivity suit, walker, storage case as well as curriculum. This will be used in our CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) course, as well as Health, Relationships and Child Development, and other classes.
So proud of these kids! Redwood Valley High School HOSA students competed in HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) Skills Contests in Rochester, MN. The HOSA bowl team of Olivia Klabunde, Wyatt Smith, Andrew Muetzel, and Julian Brown placed first out of nine teams. Other competitions that RVHS students competed in were Physical Therapy (Gracelyn Malecek), Nursing Assistant (Aubree Keehl), and CPR teams of Heather Panitzke/Aubree Keehl and Olivia Klabunde/Wyatt Smith. Other students competed in online testing competitions, with results still pending. Great job to these students and Mrs. Zeug!
In an effort to keep our students, staff, and visitors safe, Redwood Area Schools has purchased 6 new AEDs. Four are located in the MS/HS and 2 at Reede Gray Elementary.
