I am thrilled to share that out of approximately 220 agricultural education programs across Minnesota, Redwood Valley FFA has been selected as a Top 10 Recipient for the National Chapter Award! This recognition highlights the hard work and dedication of our chapter in implementing the mission and strategies of FFA.
This award reflects our commitment to improving FFA chapter operations through the National Quality Chapter Standards (NQCS) and our Program of Activities (POA) that focus on growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.
To submit an award application, we have to plan and facilitate at least 15 events over the course of the year. Some events to highlight from this past year include; the Medicine Wheel Garden, Advocacy Rummage Sale, Alumni & Supporters Meal, and teaching Farm Safety to area schools.
We will find out our official placing at the State FFA Convention, April 28-29th. Our application will also move onto Nationals later this spring. This award would not be possible without our FFA Officer Team! They are the ones who put the time and effort into making sure these events happen and writing the lengthy application.
Please congratulate the following students, and our advisors Mrs. Orren and Mr. Maddock, if you see them:
President: Morgan Kodet
Vice President: Adriel Johnson
Secretary: Ella O'Keefe
Treasurer: Ashton Stephens
Reporter: Piper Rigge
Sentinel: Poppy Rigge
POA Director: Alexis Altmann
POA Director: Addison Schmidt
POA Director: Erik Rasmussen
Thank you for your ongoing support of our Ag Ed program and FFA chapter.

Congratulations to our 3/21/25 Reede Gray Elementary Cardinal Shout Outs this week. When we talk about the importance of Cooperation…We are all capable of using our talents to reach our individual goals. But when we are able to combine our talents with others that is where we see groups succeed. Walt Disney, who helped to bring us the Disney's as we know said, “Whatever we accomplish belongs to our entire group, a tribute to our combined effort." This means that when we accomplish something, it means that we had to Cooperate with others and that we all celebrate the accomplishment. This week's students have been using great Cooperation! Great job everyone! It’s a GREAT day to be a RG Cardinal! #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #Cooperation #oyateowichayakiyeyedo #YouHelpPeop

Don't forget! Tomorrow night is Kindergarten Registration night!

Congratulations to our 3/13/25 Reede Gray Elementary Cardinal Shout Outs this week. We have been talking about different ways to practice Cooperation in our classrooms. Some simple strategies to build Cooperation skills when working in a group is to 1. Make sure that everyone understands their job or role 2. Take turns to make sure everyone gets to share their ideas 3. Break larger projects into smaller tasks and 4. Help each other and share the work. This weeks students have been working so hard! Way to go! It’s a GREAT day to be a RG Cardinal! #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #Cooperation #oyateowichayakiyeyedo #YouHelpPeople

Last week, 3rd Grade finished their Native American unit studying about five different regions and learning the traditional way of life for those people who lived there thousands of years ago. Pottery was an important part of life for these people! We had the chance to learn from Rochelle Lame Bull, to teach us about the pottery she and others make at Lower Sioux . Students got to make their own pots and creations with her guidance. We also learned about traditional tobacco and how it differs from commercial tobacco. We were lucky to have Mat Pendleton, Bruce Helsper, Andre Larsen, and Melvin Means demonstrate how and help the students make traditional tobacco from Red Willow!

Happy AmeriCorps week to our fabulous Early Learning Corps, Reading Corps, and Math Corps tutors!! Thank you for your time and service to our students at Reede Gray!

8 Redwood Valley High School DECA students competed at the State Career Development Conference in Minneapolis. Over three days, they competed alongside 3,100 high school students from across the state in 7 events such as Retail Management, Marketing Management, Human Resources, and Finance. Students must complete an exam in their area of competition and compete in a role play where they are given a scenario and must present their ideas and solutions to a judge. Students have 10 minutes to prepare their solution before they present. Our small delegation networked and competed with students who have multiple business classes available to them and delegations of over 150 students at the state conference. At the opening session, our chapter was recognized for our efforts in recruiting members and our chapter President, Chance Pendelton-Sam, was invited on stage to receive our certificate. While we did not have any students make it to finals (just 12 from each event move on), our students are determined to come back next year and came home with a great experience and many ideas for the next year of DECA at RVHS.

We can't wait to sign your child to RV Elementary! Join us for Kindergarten Registration night on Tues, March 18th!

Congratulations to our 3/7/25 Reede Gray Elementary Cardinal Shout Outs this week. We are turning our attention this month to Cooperation which is working together to reach a shared goal. It might be working in a small group in math to solve a problem or completing a project. On the playground it might look like a game of kickball or taking turns on the swings. Keep on working together RG students. It’s a GREAT day to be a RG Cardinal! #ReedeGrayElementary #CharacterStrong #AlwaysTheCardinalWay #Cooperation #oyateowichayakiyeyedo #YouHelpPeople
