Our Reede Gray Dakota Word of the Week for this week is...
DECA is a student organization preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Ten RVHS DECA members attended the district competition in Owatonna and competed alongside 400 DECA members from Mankato, Owatonna, Austin, Faribault, Waseca, NRHEG, and Pine Island
Congratulations to all of the RVHS competitors for showing up (at 5:30am), trying something new, and putting their best business knowledge to work today! It is no small thing to try something new AND compete against schools MUCH larger than Redwood Valley. You represented Redwood Valley High School well.
I am also pleased to announce that our first official DECA outing resulted in 5 students qualifying to compete at the State Career Development Conference in March. Congratulations to the following state qualifiers and Jenni Shouse-Klassen, Advisor:

Congratulations to our 1/10/25 Reede Gray Elementary Cardinal Shout Outs this week. As we kick off into the New Year we have a new monthly focus on Perseverance. On Wednesday, RVMS had their second quarter Cardinal Way Celebration, where they celebrated being respectful, responsible, and collaborative Cardinals! We enjoyed some competition between Homebases with some Roll the Dice games (Congrats Mr. Hicks' Homebase!), Kahoot competition, and ended with some students winning Cardinal swag bags! It was a great time having some fun and celebrating our awesome students in the RVMS! Go Cards!

Save the date for our Winter RG Family Fun Night!
To learn more about other countries and the cultures of the people living there, the RVHS College Geography class created "Food Trucks", which were both artistic and informative. Great work students and Mrs. Mertens!
Our Middle School art classes took part in a Lions drawing contest related to Peace. Our first place winner was Selaia Daub, second place was Aiyana Anderson, and third place was Sylie Kam.
